What is a Colour Doppler?

Color Doppler is a technique in which colors are superimposed on an image of a blood vessel to indicate the speed and direction of blood flow in the vessel. A type of anĀ ultrasound test, the Colour Doppler emits high frequency sounds into the body to create a picture on a monitor.

It is used to determine the presence of blood clots and for detecting blockages in the arteries.

It also help to evaluate reduced or absent blood flow and increased blood flow to various organs, such as the testes or ovary.
