What is a digital OPG?
Digital OPG (Orthopantomagraph) is an ear-to-ear dental X-ray scanning of the upper and lower jaw. It shows a flattened two-dimensional view of a half-circle of the maxilla (upper jaw) and mandible (lower jaw), including the teeth. Digital OPGs are extremely beneficial in diagnosing dental diseases and help with tooth-related ailments.

An OPG (Orthopantomagram) is a panoramic dental X-ray of the upper and lower jaw.
It is also often used to check your teeth, jaw joint, the TMJ (temperomandibular joint).
OPG- Xray is performed with low radiation dose and gives broad coverage of facial bones and teeth including the jaw joint.
Radiographer will ask you to remove any jewellery or metallic items around the head and neck area as it can block the x-ray beam.
